Founded by a mother of three medically complex children, the ATA Lopez Foundation is a nonprofit supporting families of children with special needs. We close gaps in resources, advocacy, community care, and safety—because every child and family deserves to thrive

Free Support Services for Families

We provide comprehensive, no-cost programs to help families navigate the complex journey of raising a child with disabilities or developmental delays, including:

• Caregiver support

• IEP advocacy and meeting preparation

• Medicaid waiver guidance

• Support with evaluations and assessments

Whether you’re just beginning your journey or managing ongoing care, we’re here for you every step of the way.

The Safe Return Program

Launching in South Louisiana, this initiative helps families prepare in case a child with special needs wanders or goes missing. All information is voluntary, securely stored, and shared only with verified responders during an emergency.

By registering now, families help demonstrate the urgent need for this program and strengthen our ability to expand support across the region.

Building Inclusive Communities

We believe inclusion begins with connection. That’s why we host regular inclusive playdates, caregiver meet-ups, and community events to foster relationships, promote disability awareness, and create a strong sense of belonging.
